“This is confirmation that the sustainable solutions NCC delivers make a difference and meet our customers’ needs. Some clear examples of this are our environmentally compatible NCC Green Asphalt method, and the switch-over of several of our asphalt plants in Sweden to using renewable fuels. In recent years, we have found that our major emphasis on sustainability has driven business-centric innovation with the customer in focus,” says Christina Lindbäck, SVP Corporate Sustainability at NCC.
NCC pursues its sustainability efforts through measurable goals, resource efficiency and solutions that meet society’s needs for sustainable development. In 2018, for example, NCC was part of producing a globally unique electric road, and the first certification of sustainable urban development in Sweden.
In addition, NCC Sweden pledged that its construction operations would be climate neutral by 2045 and drafted the industry-wide decision to digitally ensure traceability of construction products in the supplier chain. One important success factor is the collaboration with other players, which is built on complete honesty and open dialogue.
The Sustainable Brand Index B2B is the Nordic region’s largest sustainability study among decision-makers in companies with over SEK 500 million in sales. The study covers more than 100 brands and is based on approximately 1,000 interviews with heads of purchasing or procurement in major companies. The basis for the term “sustainability” has been the UN’s Global Sustainable Development Goals.
