Sustainable Sites

Sustainable Site is the way we describe our common foundation for sustainability efforts at all of NCC’s worksites, regardless of country or type of business. The requirements for being a Sustainable Site not only relate to our own operations and staff, but to all the subcontractors who work for us at our sites.

To become a Sustainable Site, our construction projects, our quarries or our road service contracts must meet several requirements that are linked to our sustainability framework. This means, for example:

  • We secure a safe, healthy working environment.
  • We limit emissions to land, water and air.
  • We promote fair working conditions.
  • We follow the game rules for a fair business.
  • We interact with local stakeholders.
  • We minimize and recycle waste.
  • We reduce our carbon footprint.
  • We consider risks and opportunities in sustainable development.

In Sweden, it is mandatory for all construction projects over 50 million kronor to apply Sustainable Site (Building Sweden).

How NCC approaches sustainability

What sustainability means to us:

“With Sustainable Site, we are now taking the next step in our sustainability efforts. We’re thrilled that all projects can now contribute to NCC’s sustainability efforts regardless of customer requirements.”

- Maria Eriksson, Head of Sustainability at Building Sweden
