Sustainability Policy

In order to contribute to a sustainable society NCC’s business is to operate in a way that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. NCC sustainability policy, which applies to all of our business areas and activities, sets the standard for this work.

1. Introduction

There is a need for a major transition in society if we are to successfully tackle current global challenges, such as climate change and the over-consumption of resources that have arisen due to a historically linear use of materials, the production of waste and high levels of population growth. The construction industry uses large quantities of material resources and energy, both in its operations and in the products and services it supplies to society. Our products and services also influence the social dimensions of society. Consequently, there is significant potential in our sector to collaborate with customers and to contribute proactively to the sustainable transformation required to avoiding jeopardizing our ecosystems and social stability in the long term.

2. Policy Statement

2.1 Scope

This NCC Group policy applies to all of NCC's business areas and activities.

2.2 Objectives

NCC's objective is to create total value by developing products, solutions and services that focus on social, environmental and economic aspects. Accordingly, the Group aims to contribute to a sustainable society by operating in a manner that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.

NCC's ambition it to be the sector leader and to proactively contribute to reducing the use of non-renewable resources, increasing value for society and developing new technical solutions, products and working methods that promote sustainable development for customers, society and the NCC Group. For NCC, this means taking the needs of current and future generations into account, and assuming long-term responsibility in our day-to-day activities.

2.3 Strategy

NCC's vision is to renew the industry and to provide superior sustainable solutions. We can achieve this by constantly working to develop more socially valuable, climate-adapted and energy and resource-efficient products and services, both independently and in partnership with our customers. This minimizes the burden on the environment and allows society to progress in a more sustainable direction.

All employees bear responsibility for our sustainability work, which extends beyond the company itself. Our aim is to influence our suppliers and customers so that they also adopt their own systematic approach to sustainability. Our everyday activities are based on our core values: honesty, respect, trust and pioneering spirit. These values form the basis of everything we do and define our internal and external approach. Good business ethics and morals are key elements of our business. While relevant legislation and other regulations establish the minimum standard, the expectations we set for ourselves are considerably higher in certain areas.

Our decisions are based on the precautionary principle and careful consideration, where short and long-term gains are weighed against each other to ensure solutions that are sustainable in the long term.

We support the UN Global Compact's principles on human rights, labor rights, the environment and anti-corruption, as well as the ILO's fundamental conventions on rights at work. We strive to be a good corporate citizen and act responsibly in our business relations, combating corruption in all its forms. More detailed guidelines can be found in our Code of Conduct and in our compliance tool NCC Compass, both of which provide guidance in our work.

3. Accountability, monitoring and compliance

This Group policy has been approved by the CEO of NCC AB.
The Sustainability Policy is reviewed annually and revised where necessary. We strive to continuously improve our sustainability work and to maintain an open and honest dialog with our various stakeholders, both in and outside our company.

1. Introduction

The construction industry uses large quantities of material resources and energy, both in its operations and in the products and services it supplies to society. Accordingly, we have an important role to play in the transition to a sustainable future by providing society with more sustainable solutions, systematically reducing the impact of our own operations and influencing key stakeholders, such as customers and suppliers.

2. Policy Statement

2.1 Scope

This NCC Group policy applies to all of NCC's business areas and activities.

2.2 Objectives

NCC aims to contribute to a sustainable society by operating in a manner that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. NCC's ambition is to actively contribute to reducing the use of non-renewable resources, increasing value for society and developing new technical solutions, products and working methods that promote sustainable development. For NCC, this means taking the needs of current and future generations into account, and assuming long-term responsibility in our day-to-day activities.

2.3 Strategy

Reducing the environmental impact of our operations and the products and services we provide is one aspect of our sustainability strategy. The sustainability strategy is described in more detail in our Sustainability Policy.

NCC strives to proactively identify and prevent environmental and health-related risks caused by our business. A fundamental requirement is that we act within the framework of laws and international conventions. We respect and adhere to environmental legislation, agreements, safety requirements and other provisions that govern our activities. We fulfil or exceed national or international regulations and agreements relating to environmental matters.

Our environmental management work is integrated into our process-oriented management system(s). The purpose of this approach is to continuously reduce and monitor the company's environmental impact. NCC's management has implemented the principle of continuous improvement in all environment-related areas, and line management is responsible for ensuring progress in relation to our environmental performance.

NCC's environmental sustainability work focuses on two areas: "Climate and Energy" and "Materials and Waste", setting targets to ensure progress and continuously endeavoring to improve our environmental performance. Our everyday activities are based on our core values: honesty, respect, trust and pioneering spirit. These values form the basis of everything we do and define our internal and external approach.
