NCC to build 129 rental apartments in Älvsjö

In partnership with Familjebostäder, NCC will construct 129 rental apartments close to the new Älvsjöstaden city district, south of Stockholm. The order value is approximately SEK 300 million.

Älvsjöstaden is a major urban development area in Älvsjö, comprising a total of approximately 1,500 housing units in three phases. Disused industrial land is to be transformed into a city block in close proximity to commuter trains.

“We are pleased that our cooperation with Familjebostäder is growing and that we have had the possibility to work together from an early stage to secure a sustainable result,” says Henrik Landelius, Business Area Manager of NCC Building Sweden.

Kabelverket 17 comprises a block in the third phase with 129 apartments distributed between three apartment blocks, one of which will be a high-rise building of 20 stories. The well-planned units will range from studios to three-bedroom apartments with balconies or terraces and high-quality materials. A garage is also being built on the basement level with approximately 30 spaces.

The project work is proceeding in accordance with Älvsjöstaden’s environmental and energy plan, and the housing units are being built to meet a Silver environmental rating from the Sweden Green Building Council.

“The housing in this area will be made from quality materials and have low energy consumption, while also being cost and space-efficient, thereby enabling Familjebostäder to set reasonable rents,” says Henrik Landelius.

Earth and groundworks have commenced and occupancy is scheduled for 2021.

The approximately SEK 300 million transaction will be registered among orders in the third quarter of 2019 in the NCC Building Sweden business area.
