SBVT and NCC expand water and sewage infrastructure in Skåne and Blekinge

NCC has signed a framework agreement with Skåne Blekinge Vattentjänst for new, rebuilt and extended water and sewage infrastructure in the municipalities of Östra Göinge, Osby, Olofström and Bromölla. The assignment will take place through a strategic partnership with an order value estimated at between SEK 300 million and SEK 500 million.

“We are facing extensive investment and reinvestment needs to secure the long-term future of our water and sewage infrastructure, and we are particularly pleased to embark on this journey together with NCC. All of which will benefit our water and sewage customers,” says Per Fremark, CEO of Skåne Blekinge Vattentjänst.

The strategic partnership agreement encompasses building new and remodeling sewage and water-treatment plants, pump and booster stations, new transmission pipelines, new ancillary buildings and demolition work, and Skåne Blekinge Vattentjänst can successively call-off suborders as required.

“Complex water and sewage projects must consider a range of perspectives, making partnering an excellent form of collaboration as the parties jointly handle needs, challenges, risks, finances and expertise at an early stage in the project. This optimizes conditions for both the project and operating activities,” says Per Johansson, Business Manager NCC Infrastructure, Water and Environment, and continues;

“NCC is the only construction company that can offer the required expertise throughout the entire water and sewage process, in terms of construction expertise, as well as process and machinery competencies. It is very convenient to have the entire chain in a single company, as we do not need to look outside the company for specialist competence.

The framework agreement is for five years with an option of a three-year extension. The project volume is estimated at between SEK 300 million and SEK 500 million for the entire term of the contract and will be registered on an ongoing basis in the NCC Infrastructure business area.
