NCC to build 225 apartments in Linköping for Riksbyggen

Together with Riksbyggen, NCC will build eight new apartment blocks with a total of 182 rental units and 43 tenant-owner apartments in Berga Park, Linköping. The order is worth SEK 290 million.

“Linköping is growing and we are now building a total of eight new apartment blocks in the Berga Park. There is demand for small and large apartments, both to rent and to buy, in the city and we have therefore chosen to build a corresponding mix in the same district to try to meet as many of these needs as possible,” says Mårten Lilja, vice president at Riksbyggen and Head of business area Housing.

Two of NCC’s standard building designs will be used: NCC Lamell and NCC Folkboende. The Lamell buildings will be seven stories and constructed to create a courtyard in which an eight-story high-rise, NCC Folkboende, will be constructed.

The district will also primarily comprise smaller apartments, studio and one-bedroom apartments, but will also have two-bedroom apartments. The apartments are bright and well planned and these standard buildings have been designed to be durable and easily maintained over time.

The outdoor areas in the courtyard are partially located above an underground garage that meets the area’s parking needs. A playground, common areas and parking spaces will also be constructed outdoors.

“These will be good, affordable housing units built with quality materials and will have a low energy consumption whilst being cost and space-efficient. This will allow the property owner to set reasonable rents. We are pleased that Riksbyggen believes these housing units will meet its customers’ needs,” says Henrik Landelius, Business Area Manager of NCC Building Sweden.

Construction will start in autumn 2019, and the project is expected to be completed in spring 2022.

The project will be registered during the second quarter of 2019 in the NCC Building Sweden business area.
