NCC to construct 135 tenant-owner apartments for HSB Gothenburg

In collaboration with HSB Gothenburg, NCC will construct 135 tenant-owner apartments in Gothenburg. The apartments will form the HSB brf Sannaparken block and are a part of the new Fixfabiken residential area that is being developed in Majorna, western Gothenburg. The order value is approximately SEK 285 million.

Fixfabriken is an urban development project in western Gothenburg where HSB Gothenburg and Fastighets AB Balder are coming together to build four residential blocks that will densify the area between Sandarna, Klippan and Kungsladugård. The project is a part of BoStad2021, a joint project between the real estate industry and the City of Gothenburg.

“Historically, we have had many projects in Majorna, so it feels particularly special to be back and playing a part in the development of the city district once again. It is an attractive area, and there are many people that want to live here, which is certainly noticeable from the large interest in the market for our housing units,” says Kristian Isberg, Business Area Manager, New Production and Rental Properties, HSB Gothenburg.

NCC’s assignment is a turnkey contract that will be conducted in partnering form where 135 apartments ranging from studios to four-bedroom apartments will be built. All apartments will feature a balcony or outside patio and can be accessed via eight stairwells in buildings ranging from three to ten floors, with underlying basements or garages. The contract also includes building the tenant-owner association’s common areas, such as laundry rooms and inner courtyards.

“Over the years, we have built many of HSB’s projects in Sweden, and we are pleased to be once again entrusted to work together to create more housing in Gothenburg. The common set of core skills held by HSB and NCC provides a sound basis for a successful project,” says Henrik Landelius, Business Area Manager at NCC Building.

HSB brf Sannaparken will be environmentally certified under the Sweden Green Building Council, Silver level, which places strict demands on, for example, low energy consumption, healthy indoor climate and good choice of materials.

Earth and groundworks have commenced and will continue during June. Construction is expected to commence in August 2020, and the project is expected to be complete in 2022.

The order value of about SEK 285 million will be registered during the first quarter of 2020 in the NCC Building Sweden business area.
