Tranåsbostäder and NCC in strategic partnership

Over the next five years, NCC and Tranåsbostäder will jointly develop and construct a variety of buildings including elderly care facilities, schools and a multi-purpose arena in the Municipality of Tranås, Sweden. The estimated total order value is approximately SEK 600 million.

“The Municipality of Tranås is growing and building for the future. Based on stable and long-term partnerships such as this with NCC, we will have the right conditions in place for identifying sustainable and cost-effective solutions,” says Sören Carp, CEO of Tranåsbostäder AB.

The cooperation between NCC and Tranåsbostäder will take the form of what is known as strategic partnering, a long-term cooperative format, where the participating companies carry out an assignment with the best interests of the project always in mind.

The Municipality of Tranås is growing and needs to renovate and construct new buildings in the next few years. The Blodroten block, an elderly care facility comprising 54 apartments, will be the first to be built. Construction of a 9,000-square-meter multi-purpose arena, also including restaurants, and educational and conference facilities, will begin later in spring 2017. Holaved upper-secondary school will also be expanded and renovated, followed by more schools and preschools.

“We are very pleased to have been entrusted by the Municipality as a construction partner for town construction and development for the next five years. Together with Tranåsbostäder, we will investigate requirements and, based on an innovative approach and focus on sustainability, we will construct new buildings and extend a number of municipality properties during the period until 2021,” says Henrik Landelius, Head of NCC Building Sweden.

The total order value is an estimated at approximately SEK 600 million. The order will be registered in pace with procurement of the project, following agreement between NCC and Tranåsbostäder. The collaboration will commence in June 2016.
